About the shop
A small Central Coast cellar with a big curiosity.
Bateau Bay Cellars has stood on this corner of the Central Coast since 1982, though it didn't start out in drinks at all. Over the years the building has been a newsagency and a laundromat before it became the cellar it is today.
Bateau Bay Cellars · Est. 1982
In March 2025 we rebuilt the entire range.
What you'll find now is a properly global cellar: wines from Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece, Spain, Chile, Argentina and Georgia, spanning classic styles through to natural and low-intervention. We also carry allocated wines that are hard to find, alongside a growing sake selection.
Beer drinkers are well looked after too. New craft beer arrives every second Wednesday, including limited releases that don't sit on the shelf for long. We also keep a range of artisanal spirits open for tasting in-store.
Half our team are qualified sommeliers and the rest come from hospitality, so there's always someone on the floor who knows the range. We enjoy the conversation as much as the recommendation, and every Friday we run in-store wine and beer tastings.
The website only shows part of what's on our shelves. If you can't see what you're after, call us on (02) 4332 8033 — there's a good chance we have it.
