Equinox is a small-batch whisky from Amber Lane Distillery on the NSW Central Coast. The expression brings ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks together, aiming for equal weight from both. Amber Lane established the distillery in 2017 and works with long maturation cycles and European distilling principles.
The 2025 Royal Australian Spirits Awards named Equinox champion whisky, champion small-batch spirit and best spirit of show. An IWSC panel found tropical fruit, sweet berries, coconut, aromatic sherry and spice. The whisky is bottled at 46 per cent alcohol. Try it neat first, then add a few drops of water if you want the sherry and spice to open further.
