About
Soft tannin, bright fruit. The everyday Grenache for spaghetti night.
Troppo is Unico Zelo's label for easy, minimal-fuss drinking, and this Grenache comes off old vines in the Riverland, on Ngawait Country. The soils there are intensely sandy. The winery puts Grenache and Sand together on the label as a pairing that belongs, and the wine is the argument for it.
Super light in colour but not short on flavour. Unico Zelo's own note finds fresh and candied raspberries, red liquorice and rhubarb, then just-picked strawberries on a juicy palate. Acidity keeps it refreshing and there is only the faintest suggestion of grip. It sits at 12.5 percent.
Chill it or don't. The winery says choose your own adventure. A short spell in the fridge suits a warm evening, and pasta with a tomato sauce is the natural partner.
