About
The name says it all — fun, drinkable, no fanfare.
The fruit comes off a single block at Blewitt Springs, the high sandy corner of McLaren Vale. The bush vines are around 80 years old and have never been irrigated. Dark sand is why the wine comes out light and perfumed rather than thick, the opposite of what most people expect from the region.
Jumping Juice is the side project of Patrick Sullivan and Xavier Goodridge, two long-time friends who make wine in Gippsland. They pick from regions they like across the country and make the wines with little to no additions. This one is organic, bottled unfined and unfiltered with a small dose of sulphur, and lands at 13.5 percent alcohol.
The producers describe crunchy red fruit under a cloud of delicate perfume. Put the bottle in the fridge for twenty minutes before opening. It suits charcuterie, grilled sausages or a pizza night.
